STREET ART: Australia Hall, Pembroke

Some street art scouting today at Australia Hall, Pembroke. Basque artist sor2 has combined icons of Maltese history with mind bending and surreal depictions of modern culture. From a laser eye La Vallette (I think it’s him) floating on top of a cisk, to a Supreme wearing, camcorder, snapback dude (self portrait? I don’t know, never met the guy).

Go take a look for yourself, its easy to get into Australia Hall and intriguing at the same time.

A bit about the Sólo Taco launch date

The truck was supposed to be open for business in time for summer. However there has been a big delay because of a knee injury (torn ACL). So it will be a few months before I can realistically consider opening.

That means the exact launch date is a bit up in the air but there is a chance of one off taco events. Keep checking the Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages (and eventually, the website) to stay updated.

Painting the truck

truck being prepped
The truck has spent the last few weeks being sanded, prepped and sprayed. There was no theme at first, but it quickly turned into a psychedelic desert taco trip with Chris' help (SeaPuppy). Some details were added on the fly and some, like skully at the back, were hanging around since the sketching started.

Cousin Julian from Goodcleanfun took the photos and shot some footage. Stay tuned for the video edit featuring Chris working his magic and our little taco break in between.

There's a lot of detail going which you can't necessarily see in the photos. So keep your eyes peeled for when the truck hits the road. When you see it, come order some tacos and take a few photos: there will be prizes for the best snaps. More info soon.
